What's the difference between shared hosting and a virtual server?

Shared hosting is what most people refer to when they talk about web hosting for their website. It means your account is on a server that is shared with other people. It is the cheapest form of hosting, but you can't make server level changes. A virtual server on the other hand gives you root access to a virtualized server that is only used by you. You are free to make changes to anything and you will never have to worry about someone else's account causing you problems.

Do you offer vps backups?

Kind of... We take system-wide backups every 14 to 30 days for disaster recovery purposes, but we do not make these available to clients (unless really needed). We also use RAID mirroring for redundancy, but this is not a backup plan for clients either. In short, you are responsible for your own backups. However, it's easy to keep backups of your site if you are using DirectAdmin. Simply use the built-in backup system. In short, if something terrible happens and for some reason we can not restore your vps, it will be rebuilt and you'll need backups. So take five minutes and set it up in DirectAdmin.

How long does it take to activate my account?

Because we manually approve all new accounts (due to the high percentage of fraud orders), it can take up to 24 hours for your account to be activated. However, most accounts are activated within 1 - 12 hours.

Do you offer cPanel?

No. We are a DirectAdmin only host. However, you are free to install cPanel if you have your own license (VPS only).

Do you allow adult content?

No.

Can I run an IRC server or proxy?

No.

How do I cancel my account?

To cancel your account, simply log in to the billing area and click on "My Services". Once there, find the service you wish to cancel and click on the button with the green arrow. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Request Cancellation" button. Finally give a brief reason for your cancellation and select either an immediate cancellation or an end of billing period cancellation.

Billing Policy

All payments for services provided by ZenSix are due on the due date and no later. All billing cycles start on the day you signed up for service and renew on that same day each month or year, depending on your plan. Any service with an invoice more than 24 hours past due will be suspended immediately. All clients are responsible for knowing their due date. Not receiving an e-mail invoice is not an excuse for late payment. Your due date can easily be found by logging into the client area.

Shared Hosting Policy: All shared hosting accounts are billed annually. Any account that has an overdue invoice past 24 hours will have their service suspended. Any shared hosting account with an invoice more than 14 days past due will have their account terminated immediately and all data will be lost.

Refunds: All shared hosting accounts are eligible for a full refund at any time during the first 30 days of service. After 30 days, starting on the 31st day, no refunds will be issued for any reason. Clients who have their accounts suspended or terminated for violating the AUP are not entitled to a refund.

VPS Policy: All VPS accounts are billed monthly. Any account that has an overdue invoice past 24 hours will have their service suspended. Any VPS account with an invoice more than 7 days past due will have their account terminated immediately and all data will be lost.

Refunds: All VPS accounts are eligible for a refund at any time during the first 7 days of service. After 7 days, starting on the 8th day, no refunds will be issued for any reason. Full refunds are available if no DirectAdmin license is issued. A 50% refund is available if a DirectAdmin license is issued. The cost of an Softaculous license is non-refundable. Clients who have their accounts suspended or terminated for violating the AUP are not entitled to a refund.

We do not offer a refund on the Zen-Nano plan.

Chargebacks and Disputes: In the event of a chargeback or billing dispute your account will be immediately suspended and you will lose all access to your data.

Acceptable Use Policy

SERVER ABUSE:

Attempting to cause harm to a ZenSix server, or any other server on the Internet using an account on ZenSix will result in immediate removal of that account.

ILLEGAL ACTIVITY:

In any form, including but not limited to the unauthorized distribution or copying of copyrighted software or other data, harassment, fraud, trafficking in obscene material.

UNDESIRABLE CONTENT:

Certain types of content are not allowed on ZenSix. Below are things that are 100% not allowed:

* Content relating to Hacking, Cracking, Warez
* IRC Scripts / Servers
* Proxy Sites
* VNC Servers on VPS accounts
* Both VPS and shared accounts are prohibited from sending mass e-mail, contact our support department for more information
* Abusive Software
* Public File Servers
* Software/Audio/Video downloads may only be hosted if you are the writer and copyright owner of the software
* Anything that generates e-mail, blog, or forum spam

ADULT CONTENT:

We no longer allow any type of adult content on our servers. Both shared servers and vps nodes.

BULK EMAIL:

The use of our network to send bulk email whether opt-in or otherwise, and the use of bulk email to promote a site on our network is strictly forbidden. If any e-mail coming from your server gets an IP blacklisted, your account will be terminated.

MISUSE OF SYSTEM RESOURCES - Shared Hosting:

Including but not limited to employing applications which consume excessive CPU time, memory or storage space. Chat/IRC, web proxy and mailing list scripts are not allowed on our network under any circumstances. CGI based message forums which use flat file databases are often found to use excessive system resources, to avoid disappointment please use a PHP based message forum.

VPS RESOURCE LIMITS:

(Grandfathered Accounts) VPS accounts are guaranteed a certain amount of RAM. However, burst RAM is based on the amount of RAM free on the node. If your VPS causes load issues by constantly using more than its guaranteed allotment, it may be suspended or have its burst privileges removed.

If your VPS causes load issues for the other VPS accounts on the node, we may lower the amount of CPU your VPS can access.

If you are unsure about content you intend to place on our network, please check with us first. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes acceptable use.
